Quick Update:

1. Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day was yesterday and I had 3 scoops! =) I guess all my talk about dieting was all talk...haha. =)

2. I watched the following musicals: Legally Blonde and Jersey Boys. Both were really good!

I recently saw Pixar's Cars with a couple of friends. It seems like forever since the last time I saw a movie at the theater. It was a pretty good movie. It kind of reminded me of the movie Doc Hollywood. At first I wasn't sure how much personality they can put into cars, but they did a really good job. I highly recommend it. And don't forget to watch the credits!

Today was the free cone day at Ben & Jerry's. I almost missed it again, but luckily Stephen found out about it from his co-workers. So I arrived at Ben & Jerry's promptly at 12 noon, the time that they open. Originally, I was going to go there after lunch, but since I was early, I thought I'd get my first scoop beforehand to kill some time. However, they didn't open the doors until about 12:10 and wasted 10 minutes of my precious time. So I ended up arriving late to lunch at In & Out. Stephen and his co-workers were already happily eating burgers while I was eating my Triple Caramel Chunk, which btw was not very tasty. It's a good thing it was free! Then after lunch we all went to B&J together. I got my second scoop, this time I stuck with a flavor that I knew I'd like, Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch. It wasn't my favorite flavor, but they don't have the Coffee Heath Bar Crunch at that B&J anymore. I also split a third scoop of Coffee Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz with Stephen. So this year I ate 2.5 scoops of free B&J ice cream. Not too bad, although I definitely could have eaten more if I had more time. =)

I watched Lestat (a new musical by Elton John) a couple weeks ago. It was the "world premiere"...and it probably needs some more work to be ready for Broadway. I guess people will still watch it though since it has Elton John's name on it, but it definitely does not compare to his other musical Aida. The first couple songs in the beginning of the musical were pretty bad. Nothing musical about those songs. The songs in the first half was in general disappointing. The second half did pick up though and got better. Although, not even one song was memorable. If you've seen the movie Interview with a Vampire, it's based on the same book. The musical did have some interesting special effects. It's probably the best thing about the musical if I had to choose something. The performance and singing was also pretty good. And the main character definitely looked like a vampire. But overall, I would have to rank it on the low side of mediocrity.

I saw Little Women (musical) a couple weeks ago. We had pretty good seats, especially since we bought them only two days before seeing it. I didn't have very high expectations going into the musical, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much better it was than I expected. The music seemed to combine tunes that I've heard in a bunch of different musicals. The plot followed the book pretty consistently. The main difference was probably that they made Laurie/Teddy very uncharming and unsure of himself. He's suppose to be handsome, rich, charming, and "a great catch". But in the musical, he's only rich. SPOILER: The writers probably did it that way so that you don't get too attached to him. That way, you won't become disappointed at the end of the musical. For those that have read the book, you probably know what I'm talking about.
